Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small computer protocol, which includes a unique identification code, and it is installed on your computer that allows to send information to the entity that created it.

Some cookies are used to authenticate or keep the information in the User’s session, for instance the contents of your cart or videos the User has ever watched.

The cookies which are inserted on the Website allow to according to circumstances:

AFFIPERF used cookies:

  • Analytical cookies which allow, by identifying the User’s browser, to (i) calculate the number of visits on the Website; (ii) know which parts of the Website are most popular. This helps us gather feedback in order to allow to AFFIPERF to improve its Website and the services provided to the Users and the clients;
  • Which allow to identify the Users and to identify them as unique visitor in order to tailor the content of certain areas of the Website to offer Users content that match with their preferred interests;
  • “Sessions” cookies which enable users to carry information across pages of the Website and avoid having to re-enter information. “Session” cookies enable AFFIPERF to compile statistics that help AFFIPERF to understand how the Website is being used and improve its structure.

On some pages of the Website, third parties may also set their own cookies (for example when the User clicks social media sharing buttons or view embedded videos hosted on another website). We cannot access the data stored in any such cookies.

AFFIPERF’s cookies do not collect personal information. In no case, AFFIPERF knows about and collects Users’ personal information (name, surname, address, e-mail address, phone number). As a rule, AFFIPERF knows absolutely no information likely to identify Users. Personal information collected by the cookies remain anonymous and do not allow AFFIPERF to identify Users.

The collected data are stored under an encrypted format and are not readable. The data stored in the cookie can be used only within ninety (90) days.

The collected anonymous information can, in some cases, be collected to realize samplings and statistics analysis. These data are stored in secure servers and are erased within ninety (90) days.

Caution! Unsubscribe is stored on a cookie, the deletion of the whole cookies through User’s Internet Browser will involve the deletion of his unsubscribe. The User will have to unsubscribe of AFFIPERF’s services once again.

Likewise if the User uses another Internet Browser or another computer, the User has to renew his unsubscribe.

Cookie name: _utma
Originating page(s): The first page that the user visits
Originating party (3rd party): Google Analytics
Data collected by the cookie: Page visits
Purpose: _utma is used to track a visitor and is persistent i.e. doesn’t expire unless cookies are cleared. Each unique browser that visits a page on astrazeneca.com is provided with a unique ID via the __utma cookie. In this way, subsequent visits to the website via the same browser are recorded as belonging to the same (unique) visitor.
Expiry: 2 years from end of last visit

Purpose: _utmb is used to determine a visitor session. It is set when a visitor enters the website and finishes after a user pauses on a page of the site for more than 30 minutes or 30 minutes after a visitor leaves the website.

Purpose: _utmc was also used to determine a visitor session. It is set when a visitor enters the website and it expires at the end of a browser session.

Cookie name: _utmz

Data collected by the cookie: Referrals and conversions
Purpose: utmz is used to track the type of referral that drove the visitor to astrazeneca.com e.g. a search engine result, a direct link, or an ad that links to the site. The parameters in the cookie value string are parsed and sent in the GIF Request (in the utmcc variable). The expiration date for the cookie is set as 6 months into the future. This cookie gets updated with each subsequent page view to your site and is used to determine visitor navigation within your site.
